Head of Creative, Joseph Staten has confirmed that the content available to players of the recently launched Halo Infinite multiplayer, which is currently in beta till the game officially launches on December 9, is just the beginning and that more weapons will be added over time. This has been commonplace with Free-To-Play games in the past, however, with 343 Industries moving into this market with the Halo franchise for the first time these questions were bound to come up.
In a rapid-fire interview with Game Informer, Staten spoke about the current number of weapons in the Halo Infinite multiplayer, which to be fair is still a decent amount, confirming that more weapons were planned for the game in the future.
When asked if players have seen the full extent of their Spartans armory, Staten gave a confident “The answer is a resounding ‘no you have not,” confirming that it was “A pretty safe bet,” to expect more. Unfortunately due to the nature of the interview, Staten was only able to give short answers with very little insight into them.
One minor hint he did drop implied that not only can we expect to see more guns added, but some might act as hidden weapons similar to that of the Scarab gun from Halo 2. When responding on the topic he simply stated that “If I told you, they wouldn’t be secrets now would they?”
Elsewhere in this interview, Staten stated that the team planned to expand upon the game with each season that they release. This means that the earliest point we might see a major content drop is likely May 2022, when the first season is set to end. It was already announced that the single-player co-op and the forge mode were also delayed, coinciding with season 2 and season 3 respectively.
