The last time we saw Halo Infinite many be were disappointed at the look. The texturing was off, the character models were dated, and honestly, it didn’t look much fun. Now there could be a lot of reasons behind this from the team had yet to finish their build for the showcase to an internal issue surrounding the project. Whatever the reason, 343 industries heard gamers and went back to the drawing board to correct these issues.
Nearly a year later the team was ready to show off their work. During the Microsoft & Bethesda Games Showcase today, the game was given a new trailer showing off the improved visuals and textures. Now are they perfect or truly next-gen, no… But are they a vast improvement over the last go around, most definitely.
While an extended scene from the game was show a brunt of its showcase focused on the multiplayer.
Halo Infinite, as the team behind it has stated, is meant to last. During last year’s showcase event, it was stated that the plan was to support this game for the next seven or so years, with a new game release at least 10 years away. It was denied that this was intended as an experiment in live service titles and more, as former studio head Chris Lee put it last year “Halo Infinite is the start of our platform for the future.” He continued:
We want Infinite to grow over time, versus going to those numbered titles and having all that segmentation that we had before. It’s really about creating Halo Infinite as the start of the next ten years for Halo and then building that as we go with our fans and community.
At the end of the showcase, the game was also given a release date of . It will release then for Xbox One, Xbox One X|S, and PC. As with other Xbox Exclusives, it will be available at launch through Xbox Games Pass.
