The campaign portion for Halo Infinite is currently experiencing a bug that affects players attempting to jump back into the game via the Xbox Series X|S quick resume function. 343 Industries has acknowledged that they have been made aware of the problem and that they are currently working on a fix for it.
343 community director Brian Jarrard shared in a tweet that Halo Infinite currently has a bug in which multiplayer gear that is found throughout the open world of the campaign, is not actually unlocking for players in the actual multiplayer component, not appearing in the player’s inventory. Currently, there is no timeframe on when 343 expects to fix said issue, but assured players a fix is being developed.
Jarrard stated:
When playing Halo Infinite’s campaign you will come across armor lockers that contain cosmetics for your MP Spartan. If you are offline, or disconnected from services – which can occur after Quick Resume – the cosmetics won’t show up in your MP inventory.
The team is aware and we will eventually have a retroactive fix (you will get the cosmetics you’ve earned). For now, I recommend not continuing a Quick Resume session and making sure you’re online before venturing into Zeta Halo.
the simplest fix for this issue, until the team, is fully able to implement the patch, is to fully quit Halo Infinite at the end of your session. This way on your next session you launch the game fully, instead of jumping straight into the game. While this is hardly a major inconvenience, the Xbox‘s quick resume is a great feature for the very reason you can leave your game and jump right in where you were with no loss.
Halo Infinite launched its campaign on December 8th, following the release of the multiplayer in a beta form a few weeks prior. While the mode has received a decent amount of praise, with most calling it a return to form for the series, it has seen its fair share of bugs and glitches such as this that the team is working through.
