Microsoft is going to hold an open beta for Halo Wars 2 on Xbox One next week, according to a leaked listing.
First spotted by Mondo Xbox, the listing was found on the Xbox Store earlier today. The beta will apparently take place between June 13-20.
We suspect that the game will be shown off during Microsoft’s E3 2016 press conference, with the beta to be announced during the event.
It is unknown if the beta will also be coming to Windows 10, but it is incredibly likely that Microsoft will want to promote the game on both platforms.
The original Halo Wars launched in February 2009 for Xbox 360. Developed by Ensemble Studios, the game was reasonably well received despite its restrictions on console.
Halo Wars 2 is being developed by Creative Assembly, the studio behind the fantastic Total War franchise.

“Be among the first to experience the explosive return of real-time strategy to the Halo universe in the Halo Wars 2 Multiplayer Beta for Xbox One,” the listing reads.
You can see the listing for yourself by looking at the Xbox profile of Microsoft mouthpiece Major “Larry Hyrb” Nelson.
