Halo’s Arbiter Is Coming To Killer Instinct

Halo’s Arbiter Is Coming To Killer Instinct

With the relatively recent release of Halo 5: Guardians, one would think it that the Arbiter would take a break before embroiling himself in battle once more. However, it seems that conflict seems to follow him. He will be making his return, but it is not for another installment in the storied franchise of his origin. Iron Galaxy Studios recently dropped a very short teaser trailer that shows a battle ensuing somewhere in the Halo universe. In it, an Elite of The Covenant wearing the iconic armor of the Arbiter slowly walks as he unsheathes and activates his beam sword. The video definitely looks solid and offers some mystery, as it never truly shows the Arbiter in plain view. The implication is quite obvious when one can see the mandibles and the oddly shaped helmet. The trailer then cuts to a black background punctuated solely with the Killer Instinct logo. The Arbiter is coming to Killer Instinct in the form of the Season 3 expansion when it finally becomes available.

This is simply a glimpse at what the character looks like. Unfortunately, there is no intimation as to what the Arbiter’s move set will entail or how he will fit into the current portfolio of characters in terms of balance. As for the Arbiter being a disparate element thrown into this title, it is not a far cry from the original that made its debut in the arcade and eventually on the Super Nintendo years ago. The cast of fighters across all entries of the series has always been rife with unique characters of odd origins. This big reveal may simply be fan service for the many who have an affinity for the Halo franchise, but perhaps he will manage to fit in well enough and satisfy any fan’s K. I. feeling.
