Gearbox Publishing, in partnership with Compulsion Games, has announced that it will release We Happy Few physically and digitally for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 13, 2018.
Here’s the description for We Happy Few:
We Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. Set in a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England, you’ll have to blend in with its other inhabitants, who have their own set of not-so-normal rules.
Compulsion Games also revealed that the final version of the game will have a full-length story campaign played as three different characters and more than 250 unique encounters. “Each of these three playable characters has their own particular strengths – and their own dark secrets. As they attempt to survive encounters with their drug-addled former neighbors, old friends, ex-lovers, and even each other, they may dig up some long-buried secrets of Wellington Wells itself,” they added.
Designed to be replayed, the game doesn’t let you reload your save if you die. Instead, you’ll restart in a brand new, procedurally-generated city and be able to customize the world to your liking.
The Game will be available in the following editions:
Standard Edition ($59.99)
We Happy Few Early Access and Xbox Games Preview owners will automatically receive the Standard Edition. Tier 1 (Beer Tier) Kickstarter Backers will also receive it for free.
Deluxe Edition ($79.99)
Tier 2 (The Early Bird Catches Jack Tier) through Tier 9 (The Librarian) Kickstarter Backers will receive a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition.
Collector’s Set ($149.99)
