We Happy Few Out Today on Early Access

A new trailer for We Happy Few is out this week, alongside the first Early Access build of Compulsion Games’ new survival horror project, but it doesn’t tell us much about the game that we didn’t already know. On the plus side, it does include a few minutes of new gameplay footage. And the game is looking better than ever.

The latest trailer from Compulsion Games offers early looks at a variety of environments we’ll see in the game. We also get to see more of the tools that will be at the player’s disposal when it comes time to protect themselves from the other residents of Wellington Wells. And that’s just the start. Our latest look at the game includes new traps, brawls between guards, residents and unmedicated citizens, along with plenty of shots contrasting the lives of people still taking Joy to those who’ve abandoned the psychoactive drug.

We Happy Few is available on Steam and Xbox One via the Preview program for £21.99/$29.99, with a full release expected next year.

Check out the Trailer:

“The ultimate goal in We Happy Few will be to escape Wellington Wells, but there’s a time limit to be able to do that – after too many days have passed, the social structure will collapse rendering the escape impossible. We Happy Few also has some roguelike elements, such as the procedurally generated layout of the town, the absence of any save option and the fact that players will have to start a new game if killed or captured.”
