Hello Games breaks radio silence, announces big update for No Man’s Sky

This week Hello Games will be releasing an update to No Man’s Sky. We’re calling it The Foundation Update, because we have added the foundations of base building, and also because this is putting in place a foundation for things to come.

The game has come in for widespread criticism from fans who were expecting more features to be included in the launch version released in August.

According to Paul Weir, Hello Games is busy working on the next No Man’s Sky patch. The details on the patch is limited, but Weir has provided hints in the past. In September, Weir mentioned that he is working on new music to add to the game, which will arrive in the first content update for No Man’s Sky.

Obviously, music is the least of its problems.

“I finally reconnected with Sean several weeks ago on email and he did say that they were working hard on updates and that he is open to coming on this show later in October to talk more about what happened, so I hoped that will happen.”

So could we get a big No Man’s Sky update in October from Sean Murray himself? The Hello Games founder has been quiet on social media since the game launched, and there would certainly be some questions to be answered from fans.

The studio did return to Twitter recently, pointing fans towards an older blog post that outlines some of the changes that have been made to the game and team since launch.

One tweet had a link to update 1.09 patch notes, while the other tweet linked to a blog post that reiterates plans to add free DLC to the space exploration game.”
