During this year’s Tribeca Film Festival many lucky fans in attendance had the opportunity to listen to veteran Japanese game creator, Hideo Kojima. And lucky for us, one ResetEra user (Cerium) was able to share some exciting information that the legendary game developer spoke about, mostly about his upcoming new IP – Death Stranding.
A few of the notes touched on by Kojima is that he reiterates that Death Stranding still falls into the realm of open world action games. While not much gameplay has been shown off since the announcement of Death Stranding, there’s really not much that would point towards the game being anything else.
Kojima also went into depth about the game’s connection and how he wants people to question whether being disconnected is better than being connected, or does being connected really make you more disconnected. Deep stuff, Mr. Kojima.
He also detailed a bit about his approach on including so many actors on the set of his new game, stating that real actors can bring in a certain amount of depth and surprise that traditional CG isn’t capable of. He’s also stated that he plans on making video games until he dies, which hopefully for us fans isn’t for a long, long while.
One last bit of info is that Norman Reedus was also in attendance during the interview with Geoff Keighley and he claims that us gamers will simply cry due to the amount of emotional investment put forth into the game. So will Death Stranding be coming bundled with a box of Kleenex, then?
Oh, and he states we might be seeing more of Death Stranding within the next month or so, but it’s not confirmed we will.
Stay tuned for more details regarding the incredibly elusive new IP from Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding.
