Hogwarts Legacy Coming to Switch, Features No MTX

Yesterday Avalanche and Warner Bros. games pulled back the veil on Hogwarts Legacy and gave us an amazing first real look at the title since it was announced, and it looks fantastic. The delays seem to have paid off. Even with all they showed off yesterday though, there are still some questions that remained unanswered. Warner Bros. Games have updated their FAQ to answer some of these questions.

The first surprising revelation is that Hogwarts Legacy is coming to Nintendo Switch. It is not clear what kind of performance we can expect from the title on the Switch, or what concessions they would have to make to make it work on Nintendo’s hardware. It is possible that it could be a cloud version of the game, but this has not been confirmed.

Another thing that had some fans concerned was all that all the clothing shown in the trailer might mean that some might be locked behind microtransactions. The FAQ confirms though that there will be no in-game purchases or microtransactions at all. The game also does not feature any kind of co-op, and is a single player only affair.

Lastly, fans have also been wondering about author J.K. Rowling’s involvement with the title. The FAQ confirms that while the author did not have any part in writing the story of the game, her team did collaborate with the developer “on all aspects of Hogwarts Legacy to ensure it remains a true part of the Wizarding World experience and is in line with the creativity and magic that fans expect.”
