The developers behind the upcoming Wizarding World set game, Hogwarts Legacy, have stated that they plan to share more information about the game next year. This news was shared only a few days after a leak for the game had been shared online.
The game was announced back in 2020 and since then the developer Avalanche Software, as well as the publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have remained relatively quiet about the project. Following statements made by J.K. Rowling that caused much of her fanbase to turn against her, we learned some minor info about the game such as her lack of involvement and player gender options, but other than that not much information has come out for the title.
Avalanche Software took to Twitter to assure fans that the game is still on track and that they had more information to share in the future:
It has been suggested that the timing of this tweet was meant to offset a recent rumor claiming that a new trailer was on the way for the game. According to this statement though, it is clear we should not expect a new trailer just yet, though it is easy to forget that 2022 is only 15 days away.
Earlier suggestion stated that Hogwarts Legacy was on track for a 2022 release date, with the game slated for some point past April of next year. In an interview with Toy World Magazine, Warner Bros. consumer products general manager Rachel Wakley was asked about plans for the future of the series, during which it was stated that there were two major releases planned for next year. These releases are Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which is slated for April 15th, 2022, and Hogwarts Legacy which was planned for some point after the film.
