According to a recent tweet by producer and host Geoff Keighley, the highly anticipated Hollow Knight sequel Hollow Knight Silksong won’t be making an appearance at Gamescom Opening Night Live unlike other announcements. “Just to get this out of the way, no Silksong on Tuesday at ONL. @TeamCherryGames is still cooking,” said Keighley. The title was announced way back in 2019. It’s been five years since, and a release date has yet to be announced. Earlier this year, an ESRB rating was spotted for the upcoming title. It states the game will have fantasy violence, mild blood, and more. The rating could mean that a release date announcement for the game is imminent. Additionally, an official Xbox store listing for the game recently went live where players will be able to wishlist it. This all could mean that Hollow Knight: Silksong may be launching soon or may at least be in its final development cycle.
Hollow Knight’s details via Team Cherry:
As Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, adventure through a whole new kingdom ruled by silk and song. Captured and brought to this unfamiliar land, Hornet must battle foes and solve mysteries as she ascends on a deadly pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is the epic sequel to Hollow Knight, the award winning action-adventure of bugs and heroes. As the lethal hunter Hornet, journey to all-new lands, discover new powers, battle vast hordes of bugs and beasts and uncover ancient secrets tied to your nature and your past.
