Sega and Amplitude Studios’ upcoming turn-based strategy PC game, Humankind, has been pushed back to August 17 in order to give the development team extra time to working with the community and polishing the game for “an amazing day one experience”.
In a statement shared on social media, Amplitude Studios affirms that Humankind is the project that they have been dreaming of creating since their establishment. The project needs to meet the expectations of the community affirms Romain de Waubert, Chief Creative Officer at Amplitude Studios.
The game was initially scheduled to release in 2020 but the game was inevitably delayed due to COVID-19, and ever since, the development team has shared a series of OpenDev sessions where players can play small segments of the ongoing project.
The support of the community is key for the development team who are now adjusting accessibility, pacing, balancing, and the diplomacy of the AI.
