Sega’s upcoming spin-off title to the Yakuza series, Judgement, has just seen a minor set back in sales and product shipment due to legal reasons associated with the voice actor Pierre Taki. Taki has reportedly violated Japan’s substance abuse law by using cocaine and has since been arrested by Japanese law enforcement.
With the role of the Matsugane family captain, Kyohei Hamura, in the upcoming PS4 exclusive, Taki’s actions have halted all shipments and digital sales of the recently released title in Japan. Judgement is set to release this June in the west, but so far, no decision has been made regarding any actions that could potentially affect the western release date.
“Sega has received the arrest reports and are currently confirming the facts, but for the time being, we will voluntarily refrain from shipments and digital sales of [Judgment], as well as from things like posting the product’s homepage. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause for customers, as well as the parties involved.”

It also appears Sega has a rather serious approach to these allegations, as Sega’s official Twitter page have deleted any previous tweets regarding the Judgement title.
There has yet to be any confirmation of the June 25, 2019 western release date being halted due to the criminal actions of voice actor Taki. Stay tuned for updates on the arrest of Taki and presumed delay of Sega’s action-adventure, Judgement.
