Jumanji is a well-known name for movie fans than video game enthusiasts but we are all aware of how a product from a medium could bleed into another one if it becomes successful enough. The original movie of Jumanji has got enough reputation to get its own video game adaptation at the time, and the same thing also goes for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle movie that will be receiving its own game on November 8.
As a third-person action game, Jumanji: The Video Game represents all the characters that the latest Jumanji movie features, including Dwayne Johnson. The gameplay features both melee combats and ranged weapons for shooting at enemies. It seems the game also features a skill system allowing you to upgrade each character’s abilities. All the four characters will be playable in Jumanji but it’s not specified that whether the player chooses the character or it will be selected for you depending on the missions.
I don’t have the permission to comment on the game before even playing it, but based on the trailer above, I think it’s safe to say that animations are so rough and unpolished. This not acceptable for a game that is going to launch on the edge of 9th generation of consoles. I really hope the development team has got some plans for making the things right about the animations.
Jumanji: The Video Game will be available on November 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. Just for those who are interested, there will be a sequel for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle movie with the same cast coming in theaters later this year.
