A few years ago the Jurassic World series released the decently reviewed management sim Jurrasic World: Evolution. The games tasked players with constructing a Jurassic Park, managing their dinosaurs and making sure their guests are safe. This seems like a very unfair goal since, like, every movie implies this is impossible but I digress. It would appear the pursuit of this the first time around was popular enough to warrant a sequel, Jurrasic World: Evolution 2.
During the Summer Game Fest Live! event, the game premiered its first trailer. Not only does Jeff Goldblum narrate the trailer, but he will also reprise his character from the films Dr. Ian Malcom for the game.
An official press release for the game states:
In Jurassic World Evolution 2, for the very first time, players will build their parks beyond the confines of the Muertes Archipelago. Each location brings new terrain and fresh challenges for players to contend with using deep, detailed management tools and creative options. Across this range of beautiful new biomes, including dense forests and scorched deserts, they’ll contain, conserve, and care for more than 75 prehistoric species, including all-new, highly requested flying and marine reptiles and returning community-favourite dinosaurs. These majestic prehistoric creatures feel more alive than ever, displaying brand new behaviours as they interact with each other, fight for dominance, and react intelligently to the world around them.
The game will also feature four modes to play. These include a story drive Campaign mode, a more open-ended Sandbox mode, a Challenge mode for people looking to master the game, and Chaos Theory mode which offers a fresh look at events in the film. The game is being developed by Frontier Developments, who also developed the first game.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 will be launching in late 2021 on PC, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One.
