Since January 2016, Manufacture 43, a french indie studio, is dedicated to the creation of Pawarumi, a brand new original shoot’em up that aims to push the classic genre in a new direction.
Pawarumi is an arcade inspired shoot’em up with a modern twist and which stays true to the legacy of what made the genre popular in the early ages of video game history. While offering a satisfying experience to newcomers thanks to beautiful graphics and easy to pick up gameplay, it also offers an interesting challenge for those seeking deep mechanics that offers many strategic opportunities.
Now being close to the end of production, Manufacture 43 is going for the final push and asking for support to fund the final touches on the game.
Pawarumi offers five stages, which players can see more of when the game releases sometime in 2017.
Check out the Trailer:
In Pawarumi, players can swap between three types of weapon at all times, using Crush, Boost, or Drain shots at will. Crush shots inflict double damage, Boost shots restore your shield with every hit while making enemies more aggressive, and Drain shots charge a super attack that will clear the screen.
Using the right weapon on the right enemy triggers these effects, so players will have to toy around to find which enemy to shoot with certain shots. Scoring in Pawarumi is also tied to knowing which weapon to use, so players are encouraged to experiment with their shots on each playthrough.
