SNK Corporation is proud to announce the release of a major free update (ver.1.10) to the PlayStation 4 exclusive title The King of Fighters XIV in January 2017.

This update will include significant graphical improvements, 2 new colour variations per character, and many more features. Moreover, a new demo (ver.2) will be released later in December as a preview of the upcoming 1.10 update. Please stay tuned for more exciting news and reveals about KOF XIV in the coming weeks and months!

When exactly the demo will be available–and whether or not it’s exclusive to the Japanese PlayStation Network–has yet to be revealed.

Aside from the demo, the PlayStation Blog post also contained additional details about the 1.10 patch. These are 50 additional player icons, 100 new titles, new sound effects for party mode, and 2 additional colors per character. This is on top of some miscellaneous bug fixes.

Check out the Teaser:

“This patch, as discussed, will bring considerable graphical improvements, two new color variations for each character and other changes and updates that have not yet been detailed. The launch of the update is scheduled for January.

The King of Fighters XIV went on sale in August for PlayStation 4. It features a battle system of 3 on 3, which allows users to choose among more than 50 different fighters in the game to create their own group.

The Japanese company has not disclosed whether there will be other changes, for example to rebalance the different characters, but we will not have to wait long to find it out, since the 1.10 update will be available in the next month of January as previosuly said.”
