Square Enix announced during Sony’s 2016 PlayStation Press Conference that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue will be releasing on January 12 in Japan and January 24 in the west, 2017. The game will consist of Birth by Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage, a new episode, along with Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts Chi: Back Cover.
After Final Fantasy 15’s delay and with the original launch window getting perilously close without an official date confirmation, it’s not surprising to see the game slip by a few weeks. It’d now be surprising to see the game arrive in December in the West either, but we’ll update you with more word when Square Enix’s Western offices speak on the matter.
Check out the Trailer:
“Still, if you’re fully up to speed on your Kingdom Hearts, then you might appreciate this latest, and supremely upbeat (at least until the midway point, when it all starts to get mildly angst-y despite the background music doing its damnedest to convince you otherwise), trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8.
Something you might appreciate even more though, is the release date that appears toward the end of the video. It’s out on January 12 next year in Japan – and, it transpires, January 24 in the west.”
