According AestheticGamer, also called Dusk Golem, there is an interesting collaboration from several studios, including Sony’s studios on an attempt to make the greatest Silent Hill game ever released.
Disclaimer – This information has not been verified, therefore this is not factual.
For the record, I do not have sources personally at Konami or anything. The only reason I knew about this originally is I knew some people at some contact companies. AestheticGamer.
Konami has decided to release two Silent Hill games, one is going to be a soft reboot, the other will be an episodic game, probably telling more about the history behind the cursed town and its residents.
According to the information received from insiders, AestheticGamer reveals that Sony has secured the rights of the two upcoming titles, however, this do not means that Sony has acquired the IP. The leaker is confident that in 2019, one project started, for this project Masahiro Ito was hired.
Insiders has also revealed AestheticGamer that, Sony has been working to find an agreement between Hideo Kojima and Konami in order to produce one of the two upcoming Silent Hill games. An agreement has not been made official, so development has not started yet. The soft reboot of Silent Hill is allegedly being produced right now, and two development studios are involved.
The leaker feels confident of guessing that Keiichiro Toyama, the Director of the original Silent Hill from 1999 is working on the soft reboot, Toyama is currently working for Sony Interactive Entertaiment Japan. Akira Toriyama is also apparently composing the music for the game.
Speculation aside, Kojima Productions was teasing something related to Silent Hill , probably the conversations between Konami, Kojima Productions and Sony Interactive Entertaiment are in an advanced stage. The original monster designer Masahiro Ito, has confirmed his collaboration as a “Core Member” in an unannounced project. He suggested that the project is linked to Konami or Silent Hill when he says “I’m working on a title as a core member. I hope the title won’t be cancelled… I can tell you nothing yet.”.
This rumor might have some credibility, if Konami reached Sony to help fund the Silent Hill project, Sony might have pointed to what’s probably the best studio to develop a game that’s true to the origins of the franchise.
Kojima Productions is largely formed by former Konami developers who closely worked with Hideo Kojima on previous projects, but what’s more eye catching is that Kojima Productions is mainly founded with key members of the Team Silent, the team that was established by Konami for the development of the survival horror answer to Capcom’s Resident Evil.
It’s also worth mentioning that AestheticGamer recognized for revealing accurate information of Resident Evil 8 and other Capcom projects.
