Konami Confirms Unreal Engine V For PES 2022

Konami has decided to announce that PES 2021 will be an update of PES 2020, the generational leap will take place on the future, PES 2022  will feature the new Unreal Engine V.

The PES Development Team released an official statement where they explain that switching to Unreal Engine will demand a lot of attention for the developers, for that reason it was unavoidable to commit more resources to a legacy version of the simulator.

We recognize that many of you are enthusiastic for new myClub and Master League content, and we are also excited to share that large updates are in the works for both of these modes. However, the sheer scale of everything we are aiming to achieve for our next gen debut has made it necessary to pare back our efforts in other areas of development.

As a result, we have made the decision to launch this year’s PES as a streamlined offering in the form of a “season update”. That being said, we are still extremely confident that this year’s game offers fans more than enough thrills to tide them over until our next-gen title is ready for launch.

A teaser trailer showcasing the next-gen level of realism was unveiled, take a look at it down below:

PES 2021 will be built with FOX Engine, better known for being designed for Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid V, the engine allowed the development team to embody the concept of “The Pitch is Ours”. However, the Unreal Engine V will allow Konami to “dazzle” players with “staggering improvements to all areas of the game”. Konami is confident to promise more player models and animations, enhanced physics, and photorealistic visuals.

Konami also confirms that due to PES 2021 being a “seasonal update” and also marks the 25th year anniversary of the franchise, the game will launch with an “affordable anniversary price and will also come with several bonuses”

Adding up for the “seasonal update” confirmation for PES 2021, the company also lost the licensing rights for A.C. Milan and F.C. Inter Milan.
