Last Three Resident Evils Hitting Xbox One And PS4
Capcom has recently announced that it intends to remind the world that the developer is still a threat by re-releasing some more installments in the Resident Evil franchise. It already had released the HD remaster of the remake of the first game and re-releasing Resident Evil 0. Now, the company is giving the same treatment to Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6. With the release of the Resident Evil 2 remake looming over the horizon, this could be a great opportunity for fans and curiosity seekers to brush up on some of the convoluted canon woven throughout the series.
The genuinely weird thing about this announcement is the order in which the last three sequels are going to be released. Capcom announced that the first of these titles, to be re-released on March 29, will be Resident Evil 6. The fifth game will be launch sometime in this summer and Resident 4 will see release during fall of 2016. It is truly curious that Capcom would choose to re-release these titles in a reverse order. It could be an effort to get as many sales out of the sixth game as possible before launching the other two installments that had a stronger critical reception. With Capcom working on the seventh title and not having a concrete release date, this could be an effort to test the waters and see what fans want more of in the next sequel.
On the Resident Evil 6 side of things, this release comes with all of the post launch DLC including digital items previously only available through ResidentEvil.net. Capcom will also be making these titles available digitally and physically for both the Xbox One and Playstation 4. All three will be priced at 19.99 USD when they eventually come out. With all of this being said, where is the love for Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis?
