With Back 4 Blood just around the corner, gamers might be a little nostalgic for the franchise that helped kick off the genera of games. While we may never get another Left 4 Dead, the franchise having been dormant for a multitude of years, the characters from the second Left 4 Dead 2 will be game jumping this year to another zombie game.
All four of the main cast of Left 4 Dead 2, which is Coach, Ellis, Nick, and Rochelle are now available as playable characters in Zombie Army 4. This is made even sweeter by the fact that these characters are available through a free DLC pack. This content releases alongside the third chapter of Zombie Army 4‘s Return To Hell campaign, which will cost money to play.
For those unfamiliar with Zombie Army 4, it is the fourth iteration and the first full stand-alone game in the Zombie Army series that spun off from the Sniper Elite series. The game is a hoard-based game in which a single player, or a team of players, fight nazi zombies in 1946.
The game itself does also draw some inspiration from the Left 4 Dead franchise so the characters should feel, at least mechanically at home. One major difference between the two games is that Zombie Army deploys a third-person perspective, meaning that players will have a full view of their favorite character.
On top of the characters and the new mission, several cosmetic packs will be available as well. These will include the Horror Headgear Pack, Flare Gun Weapon Bundle, Van Helsing Weapon Skin, and the Horror Charm Pack 2.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War was previously made free through PlayStation Plus, as well as through the Xbox Game Pass. If you have it through either of those this might be the time to get back into the game. If you do not have it through those, this might be the perfect excuse to try the game out.
