Legends of Runeterra ‘s
Open Beta will start on January 24, players who register now can have a try the game a day earlier. Riot Games’ Legends of Runeterra is an online card game set in the League of legends universe.
The open beta will begin at 19:00 GMT. Players who took part in the Closed Beta, will be able to start on January 23.
Riot Games has released a gameplay video that shows the game’s mechanics:
In order to participate in the Closed Beta players will need to create a Riot account, then head to the official Legends of Runeterra website.
In Legends of Runeterra players can:
- Build decks with your favorite League champions (and new characters) from the regions of Runeterra, each with their own style and strategic advantage.
- Face off in dynamic, alternating combat full of opportunities for outplay.
- Earn cards for free as you play or buy exactly what you want in the store—you’re in control of your collection.
is an upcoming free to play card games, the game takes place in the same universe as League of Legends, the game will launch for PC, iOS and android and will be cross-platform. The game is scheduled for a release later this year.
“The game is played 1 versus 1 and each player begins the match with a hand of 4 playing cards randomly selected from their card deck, 20 Health Points (abbreviated HP) on their nexus, and 0 mana. Before the match begins players also have the option to trade out any of the first 4 cards they drew for new randomly generated ones.
After this pre-game phase concludes both players receive 1 mana gem and only one player receives the attack token, while the other receives the defense token. Only the player with the attack token may attack during this round and after each round the tokens switch between players and each player draws 1 random card from their deck.”
