Publisher SEGA and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced that the release date for the upcoming RPG Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii has been moved up. It will launch on February 21, 2025 instead of February 28. According to Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio head Masayoshi Yokoyama, the new release date is “because development is progressing more smoothly than expected.” Additionally, A naval combat reveal trailer was also released. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.

“This [new release date] is partly because development is progressing more smoothly than expected, but we also want to deliver the game to players around the world as soon as possible. With the support of everyone involved at SEGA, both internal and external, we have been able to make this a reality.”

A holy site of Palekana, a long-standing religious group based in Hawaii. The Haku, the most fervent believers of Palekana, inhabit the island. The island is notably larger than Rich Island and has a proper harbor.
