In a recent interview with Automaton Media, developer Ryu Ga Gotoku’s director Masayoshi Yokoyama revealed that the upcoming RPG Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will be significantly longer than the series’ last spinoff. According to Yokoyama, the title will be about thirty percent longer than Like a Dragon Gaiden. He also claimed the additional content will cause the game to be $10 more than Like a Dragon Gaiden, but the longer length was not intended and was more of a bonus. “It’s more like the volume ‘ended up’ increasing due to the story,” he said. “The map is huge, there’s a bunch of places to visit, and there are still features we haven’t announced yet. The volume increased by itself.”
