Square Enix announced today that Locke Cole from Final Fantasy VI will join the roster of Final Fantasy Dissidia NT as a downloadable add-on character at the end of June, 2018. Locke will be available first, in the May update for the arcade version of the game. Square Enix refers to him as the next DLC character, so presumably more will be coming after.
Locke is a jack-of-all-trades character, featuring a knife-focused combat style with some magic and weapons that Final Fantasy VI’s characters were capable of mastering. He also appears to be able to steal from the opponent and has a costume that’s closer to his Final Fantasy VI in-game original look.

Lock Cole will not only come with his own signature moves, but he will also have alternate skins for his costume and weapons in the game as well.
Destructoid said in an article on their website:
“As one of the chief members of the cast alongside of Terra, Locke is probably one of the first people you think of when you think “Final Fantasy VI.” It’s for that reason that he’s earned his spot in the pantheon of the series, and now he’s coming to Dissidia.
Locke was hinted at as a “male character from the first half of the series.” Now we have two male characters from the second half, and two female characters from the second half, one of which is new and one that has appeared in the Dissidia series before. Locke is the second DLC character, followed by Vayne Carudas Solidor.”

Locke is driven to protect women he meets, instantly promising to help Terra and Celesdespite them being former imperial soldiers. His want to protect women is due to unresolved guilt over a past incident which he struggles with and made him join the Returners.
