Dragami Games has announced that Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP‘s release date has been moved up from its September 25 to September 12, specifically in the Americas and Europe. However, the release date will still be on September 26 for Asia and Japan. The game will cost $44.99 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The game follows Juliet, “a descendant of zombie hunters, as she fights alongside her boyfriend and family to stop a zombie apocalypse starting in her high school in “Juliet’s 18th Birthday.”

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a remake of the original Lollipop Chainsaw (2012), on which Yoshimi Yasuda lead development as producer. RePOP is a definitive version of the game which leaves the story unchanged, with the focus on quality-of-life improvements and additional gameplay content.

The new RePOP mode, which is selectable outside of Original Mode, has a distinct and colorful pop art style for damage effects.

Resolution and Framerate
The PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam versions support 4K resolution and 60 frames per second.
The Switch version supports full high-definition resolution and 30 frames per second.
Shorter Load Times – Shorter load times than the original version of the game.
Improvements
Chainsaw Action – The game includes new improvements to make the game more user-friendly and exciting while maintaining the intense chainsaw action of the original!
Improved Camera Response – We have improved the camera’s response to stick input. When controlling Juliette, the R-stick can now be used to rotate the camera quickly and widely, making it easier to spot enemies and items.
Improved Keystroke Response – The timing of button input acceptance has been improved to make it easier to perform combos.
Increased Attack Speed – Attack speed now increases based on the number of chained hits, making the game even more exhilarating.
Movement Speeds – Movement speeds is now faster.
Chainsaw Blaster – Several changes have been made to the Chainsaw Blaster:
Auto lock-on.
Auto-fire mode added.
Increased maximum ammunition number.
Combo Actions – Improved combo actions so that players can use combo actions from the beginning of the game.
Nick Roulette – Several of the actions available in Nick Roulette have had their method of control changed to improve usability:
Nick Shoot – Changed to be an attack which hits zombies on the screen and makes them groggy.
Nick Popper – Changed to be a very powerful AOE explosion attack.
Minigames – Zombie Baseball, which many players found difficult in the original release, has been rebalanced.
Auto-QTEs
In order to have players be able to enjoy the game more, a new auto feature has been added for QTEs, and all QTEs are set to auto by default. Auto controls for QTE can be changed in the options to the manual controls found in the original release
New Streamer Mode
The song “Lollipop” which plays in the shop is replaced with an original song.
