Looter-Shooter Project Magnum Announced

Nexon

subsidiary Nat Games has announced their new looter-shooter which is currently known as Project Magnum. This name, as they state across all their promotion of it is subject to change and simply a working title at this time. The game is intended to release on both PC and consoles, though details as to if it will have an exclusivity have yet to be shown, as they promise more information is coming soon.

According to the game’s official description:

PROJECT MAGNUM is a PC/console-based game that combines RPG play with third-person shooter combat. It presents beautiful visuals and attractive and unique characters based in a sci-fi style player vs. environment worldview. It also provides exciting battles using various skills, actions, and guns, as well as the fun of highquality PvE shooter battles that target huge bosses.

The trailer also makes it hard to decern just how exactly the game will play. While it opens up with a scene of a giant black sphere crashing into the earth we soon bridge into very cinematic-looking gameplay. It appears we can expect the game to feature fast-paced shooting combat, that plays out at both long and short-range.

The level design also appears to allow for varied gameplay, as we see several characters fighting a giant robot on a rock and hilled terrain. The player characters are equipped with grappling hook devices that allow them to quickly chase the robot as it attempts to flee, seeing them slide down a hill as they throw the grapples onto it in pursuit.

From the game’s first trailer, it both looks gorgeous and looks fun to play. That being said, as we know these games often have a few launching with issues or gameplay that fails to live up to the hype. I hope the game succeeds of course, but it is important to temper expectations.
