Lords of the Fallen Cost Over $66 Million To Make

During a recent conference call, CFO of Lords of the Fallen publisher CI Games David Broderick announced that the game had a massive production cost which amounts to about $66.6 million, making it the most expensive title from the publisher. The development reportedly costs $42.2 million excluding Unreal Engine 5 license fees, $19.3 million for marketing, and $5.1 million for the production of physical discs. It’s worth noting that the game recently sold a million copies, which likely helps recuperate a significant portion of the costs. Lords of the Fallen launched on October 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. In the game, players will “journey through both the realms of the living and the dead in this expansive RPG experience, featuring colossal boss battles, fast challenging combat, thrilling character encounters, and deep, immersive storytelling.”

The game’s details:

Lords of the Fallen introduces an all-new, epic RPG adventure in a vast, interconnected world more than five times larger than the original game.

After an age of the cruellest tyranny, the demon God, Adyr, was finally defeated. But Gods… do not fall forever. Now, aeons later, Adyr’s resurrection draws nigh. As one of the fabled Dark Crusaders, journey through both the realms of the living and the dead in this expansive RPG experience, featuring colossal boss battles, fast challenging combat, thrilling character encounters, and deep, immersive storytelling.
