Luigi’s Mansion is getting a third game in the series for Nintendo Switch, due in 2019.
The last entry in the spooky series, “Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon” launched on the Nintendo 3DS in 2013. Players, as the titular plumber, used a special vacuum cleaner to capture ghosts and retrieve the shattered pieces of a magical object called the Dark Moon. It also offered a cooperative multiplayer mode that could be played locally or online.
The game will of course be a sequel to Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon on the 3DS, and from the brief glimpse we got at the start of the Direct broadcast, it’s all looking quite promising.
Nintendo also announced a new feature for October’s Nintendo 3DS title, however. There’s now a multiplayer feature much like Luigi’s previous 3DS game, Luigi’s Mansion 2: Dark Moon. There’s also amiibo compatibility, including with the Toad figure.

The announcement came with a very short video reveal with some gameplay, but aside from the short clip and title, not much else was announced about Luigi’s Mansion 3. But if you’re a fan of Nintendo’s spooky horror series, then there’s a lot of Luigi’s Mansion coming your way.
This is the second new Luigi’s Mansion title following the Luigi’s Mansion re-release on Nintendo 3DS later this year on October 12. Nintendo announced that Luigi’s Mansion on 3DS will support co-op play as a new bonus feature.
