Madden NFL 21
has sold 20% more copies in its opening week than the last year’s Madden, according to EA over 70% of players preferred Face of the Franchise: QB1 during the game’s first week in an attempt to become the next great quarterback. The new model shows 80% growth over last year’s Longshot 2.
It is also important to mention that players are becoming creators on social media, they have shared nearly 2,000 videos that have been viewed over 63 million times.
“After the most successful year in franchise history, fans are now playing more Madden than ever before. In the last weeks, players have shown their passion for Madden with a lot of great feedback and stellar engagement in Madden NFL 21,” said executive producer Seann Graddy.
“We truly appreciate the fans who have been playing Madden NFL 21 and we are excited to bring new improvements, content and experiences with our live service updates throughout the year.”
Interestingly, Madden NFL 21 release has been very controversial, the game is now the user-rated game on Metacritic’s history with a 0.3 score.
Players are reportedly sick of EA’s practice of copy and paste for the last six installments of the franchise, the worst offense is that the game is still being sold for 60 USD. The situation prompted a response from Clint Oldenburg, EA SPORTS’s Madden NFL Gameplay Production.
Players report that Madden NFL 21 is flooded with glitches, there is also evidence on Madden NFL 20 logo in the game, something that adds salt to injury when users are asked to pay a full price for a game that has not even fixed the bugs from last year’s installment.
This week #EndMaddenMonopoly and #NFLDropEA were trending on social media after the disappointing release and are a request from players due to EA’s exclusive deal with NFL to develop and publish the football sim game.
Madden NFL 21 is developed by EA Tiburon and is available for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, and PC via Origin and Steam.
