Mai Shiranui from KOF joins Dead or Alive 5: Last Round

Mai Shiranui will be joining the roster of fighters in “Dead or Alive 5: Last Round” for the PlayStation 4, further solidifying the relationships between SNK and Team Ninja’s fighting game characters.

“The King of Fighters” mainstay will be battling the likes of ninja Ryu Hayabusa, fellow kunoichi Ayane and Kasumi, as well as martial artist Christie in the heavily controversial fighting game franchise.

Her arrival in the game, which is slated for release in September, will be a month after her participation in “The King of Fighters XIV” as part of the Women Fighters Team.

Mai Shiranui is a mainstay from both the “Fatal Fury” and “The King of Fighters” series, and is perhaps one of the fighting game genre’s most controversial characters. Although her role is originally slated for a male character, Mai was conceptualized due to SNK’s desire of having an idol character.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is available on PlayStation 4, Windows PC via Steam and Xbox One.

Mai Shiranui from The King of Fighters will join Dead or Alive 5: Last Round as a playable character in September.

Check out the Teaser:

“Mai will be available to play in Dead or Alive 5: Last Round in September. Team Ninja is also adding a trio of costumes based on The King of Fighters’ female combatants that month.

Mai first appeared in SNK’s Neo Geo fighting game Fatal Fury 2 in 1992. She’ll also be playable in the upcoming PlayStation 4 game, The King of Fighters 14. You can see a brief teaser featuring Mai in Dead or Alive 5: Last Round above.”
