Mass Effect Legendary Edition
has been officially announced, the new game bundles the remastered editions of the first three games in the RPG franchise. BioWare also announced that a veteran team of developers at BioWare is working hard on the next chapter of the Mass Effect Universe
We are in the early stages of the project said Casey Hudson, adding that no more details will be revealed in the following months. Hudson also affirmed that the team is eager to show the vision for where the franchise will be going in the next installment.
BioWare’s Casey Hudson said: “it’s tough keeping a big secret (and we really struggled to keep this one a surprise) but now it’s official: today we announced the Mass Effect Legendary Edition! We’ve heard (for years!) your requests for a Mass Effect remaster, so we’re super happy to finally reveal that we’ve been working on a remastered edition of the Mass Effect trilogy.” Hudson is referring to Venture Beat’s Jeff Grubb’s leaks during the Summer Game Fest days.
According to Hudson, the development team at BioWare has been working hard “updating the textures, shaders, models, effects, and technical features of three enormous games.” The executive tried his best to manage fans’ expectations by affirming that BioWare’s goal was not to remake or reimagine the games but to offer a modern experience enjoyable for both, new and old fans.
As game developers, we always hope that our games will transcend their original platforms. Having the opportunity to remaster the trilogy means that the fruits of a decade of our work will live on, and will be experienced better and clearer than ever before.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition
will feature single-player base content and DLC from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. All the content is remastered and optimized for 4k ultra HD. The bundle will launch in Spring 2021 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will support the game via backward compatibility, next-gen enhancements will be revealed in 2021.
