After releasing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Hideo Kojima has decided to separate his way from Konami and left the long-running franchise for the Japanese company as his most important legacy during nearly 20 years of hard working. Now he is developing his own game for Sony in his own studio, but Konami still have some new plans for Metal Gear Solid series and it seems the new entry for the franchise is on the way.
According to a new tweet from Dunna Burke, the singer of the most memorable tracks in Metal Gear Solid titles, she is working on a new “secret project” which most assume to be somehow related to the third-person shooter series as she has said “Kept you waiting, huh?” On the other hand, the “Coming soon” hashtag is also another clue that maybe hints to the announcement of the project in the near future which could be E3 2019.
The next theory for Burke’s secret project circles around Death Stranding. According to Hideo Kojima at Tribeca festival, Death Stranding will get a new trailer “in a month or so.” Well, what if Kojima decides to collaborate with Burke once again and we hear her voice at the new trailer of the game, which some rumors claims would be more than 8 minutes?
However, both of the theories above are just some unconfirmed expectations from the fans and you may take them with a massive grain of salt.
