According to THQ Nordic, Metro Exodus has seen a huge success since its launch. In fact the game is the company’s biggest launch ever and later was known to have most of the game’s sales come from consoles. This leads to people wondering how the sales were on the PC with the Epic Game Store.
PCGamesN had an interview with THQ Nordic’s Lars Wingefors explains the sales overall for Metro Exodus.
“Epic Games store has exceeded our expectations in terms of sales in actual units of Both Metro Exodus and Satisfactory during the quarter. Epic games store is in fact the group’s leading digital platform I terms of revenue generated by units sales in the quarter ending March.”
Basically Wingefors is saying that the Epic Sales store brings in more money for THQ Nordic, which possibly means that Epic games definitely gives developers a higher cut of the sales through their store.
Despite the PC taking up the majority of sales among consoles and both pc selling platforms, no specific information on how much PC sales take up overall have been stated. We can assume that Epic Games is keeping their word to giving Publishers and developers a higher cut of the revenue through their launcher.
Either way, Metro Exodus will receive the new content in the coming months. The Ranger update that came out in March added New Game Plus, bug fixes, balances, and Developer commentary to the game. Currently 4A Games are working on Metro Exodus’ first expansion which will release sometime in the Summer. This dlc is called The two Colonels where a new flamethrower weapon will be available as a new main character tries to return home from the mutant-infested area. The second expansion, Sam’s Story will follow a US Marine that became trapped in Moscow after the bombs drop.
