Microsoft Gives Away Free Games in Pre-Black Friday 2018 Deal

Microsoft is offering various Xbox games for free, as we are nearing Black Friday. They are giving away the original Crackdown, which can be downloaded free of charge in a pre-Black Friday 2018 special. You can also play the game on your Xbox One thanks to Backwards Compatibility, and has even been enhanced for Xbox One X, also Microsoft is giving free access to play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and PES 2019 for a limited time now through the weekend.

From November 8 until November 11, the offer is open to Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

This could be a part of a potential Crackdown 3 promotion ahead of its February 2019 release with the game’s official product page showing up today on the Xbox store. Microsoft are yet to confirm the reason behind the freebie but it all points in the direction of the upcoming Crackdown 3.

Speaking of the news from Microsoft, Xbox XO19 event is happening in two days where we’ll get a two hour Xbox Inside stream that could include info about Crackdown 3 and other Microsoft games like Forza Horizon 4, Sea of Thieves and State of Decay.

The original Crackdown was a real Xbox 360 hit back in the day, with non-linear gameplay and destruction. The game featured a sandbox environment in which players were able to choose their approach for each scenario. If you haven’t played it back then, now is the time to give it a go with the long-delayed sequel just around the corner.

Crackdown 3 was first revealed way back in 2015 and after multiple delays, underwhelming showings and the loss of key team members the game was on the brink of cancellation. Microsoft revealed a new bit of info and a gameplay trailer on E3 2018 showing off neon city destruction.
