It looks like Microsoft has made quite a few small announcements during their E3 2019 conference. They announced two “new” titles to the Xbox, Minecraft Dungeons and Battletoads.
To start off the announcements from Microsoft, Minecraft Dungeons is a top-down dungeon-exploring co-op adventure where players explore, fight, and find treasure in areas that take place in the Minecraft world. Players will use swords, shoot bows, and find more weapons to defeat many foes similar to the Diablo series. It would seem that there may be more than just the base Minecraft abilities as it looks like players will be able to use spells and other forms of fighting not seen in the original.
The game is set to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and is included with the Xbox Game Pass and is set to release in Spring 2020.
It also looks like we’re bringing back a classic from the past as a new trailer for Battletoads has been released. That’s right, Dlala Studios is bringing back the toads in a new, fully-animated action adventure under the supervision of Rare. The trailer shows off the characters, Rash, Pimple, and Zitz as they fight through baddies in a side-scrolling beat’em up action.
The game is set to release sometime in 2020 on the Xbox Game Pass, which may mean it will be available on the PC as well. We’ll just have to see. Battletoads has been said to make a return on the Xbox platform for a while now with 2015’s Rare Replay and Rash’s inclusion in Killer Instinct. Hopefully the gameplay will be just as challenging, if not impossible compared to the previous original game.
These are only a couple of games from Microsoft’s Press Conference, stay tuned for more.
