Microsoft Flight Simulator
will receive a free virtual reality update on December 23, the announcement was made during the recent developer update on Twitch.
Asobo Studio confirmed that the highly-anticipated update will be part of the Sim Update 2, the update will be available for all devices but it will launch only with support for a specific Microsoft Mixed Reality device.
“We are going to open the VR for everyone,” said Martial Bossard, executive producer at Asobo Studio. “Everybody will get access to VR now, and when I say everybody […] it will also be open to all devices, including the Oculus family, Valve family, really every family of headset are going to be supported there.”
that VR support was closely developed with HP and was scheduled to arrive at the launch date of the HP Reverb G2 VR headset.
Microsoft Flight Simulator also supports TrackIR, a head tracking solution delivering full six degrees of freedom (6DOF) camera control for an ultra-immersive simulator experience. TrackIR allows players to enjoy a low latency mouse free look around with Microsoft Flight Simulator in full 4K/HDR.
