According to a recent report by Windows Central, Microsoft has started blocking unofficial accessories from working with Xbox consoles. Several players who use third party devices have reported seeing a new error message with the code 0x82d60002. According to a statement from the Xbox support site, “from the moment you connect an unauthorized accessory and receive error code 0x82d60002, you’ll have two weeks to use the accessory, after which time, it will then be blocked from use with the console. At that time, you’ll receive the error code 0x82d60003.” Additionally, according to Windows Central’s sources the new change may be due to Microsoft expanding its third-party wireless Xbox controller programme, as most third party controllers are wired and not wireless. It’s worth noting that third-party Xbox devices that are part of the “designed for Xbox ” partner programme, shouldn’t be affected by this change.
