Microsoft Reveals Xbox Series X New Dashboard

Microsoft has just revealed the new Xbox Series X dashboard, in the showcase video, the designers share Xbox’s vision for making the dashboard faster, intuitive, and more visually appealing.

Microsoft is focused on “building an ecosystem of hardware and software working to meet gamers wherever they choose to engage.” This means that the Xbox dashboard is unified across all your devices, Microsoft affirms that whenever the player opens an Xbox app, the text will be readable with element on-screen easier to understand, all of this will allow players to accomplishing tasks faster than ever.

All the ways you experience Xbox should feel inviting and familiar, whether you’re on the couch playing on your console, rallying a group of friends together from your PC, or sneaking in a quick session on your Android device via cloud gaming. The new Xbox look and feel is designed to be faster to use, more approachable and visually appealing. This holiday it will be shared across all Xbox mobile apps, Xbox Game Pass on PC, and of course Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles.

This includes tile shape, fonts, an updated illustration style, and more. The overall layout of most of the console pages remains familiar, just faster, and more focused.

One of the most important aspects of a dashboard is to be able to launch games in a user-friendly fast way, The Xbox Velocity architecture, and Quick Resume system allows players to “maximize the amount of time they are actually playing”. Microsoft affirms that the Home screen loads more than 50% faster when you boot your Xbox, and almost 30% faster when you return from a game. Designers managed to create the new dashboard up to 40% lighter on the memory, this means more performance on your games.
