An alleged industry insider has affirmed in the XboxEra forums that Microsoft has another studio acquisition in the works, the acquisition would be as big as Zenixmax Media, and fans are now thinking about the possibilities of Sega Square Enix, Ubisoft, or Electronic Arts to be part of Xbox Game Studios.

It’s no secret that Xbox is on the hunt for more studios to help bolster its Game Pass service, but the rumor has backed up by a more reputable Xbox insider, KingRagnar, who affirmed that he’s been hearing the same thing over the last few months and that an announcement will be made either at the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022.
Respected journalist Brad Sams, affirmed last week that some giants of the video games industry were approached by Microsoft, was inquired by a Twitter user for more information, the journalist responded with only the smirking face emoji, which suggest that the rumors are related to the information he has from other insiders.
These things are crazy complicated and can close in a week or a year, or never. I’d rather not call them out as it’s not going to help and Twitter trolls will roast me every day it does or does not get announced. Said Brad Sams when asked about the potential studio being purchased.
The acquisition of another large studio or publisher makes sense for Xbox. Microsoft’s latest financial report reveals that the Xbox brand saw a big increase in sales, the gaming revenue rose to 51%, which translates to 5 billion dollars.
Content and Services, which includes software sales along with Xbox Game Pass subscriptions went up by 40%, hardware sales also saw an increase of 86% thanks to the Xbox Series X|S.
“What we have witnessed over the past year is the dawn of a second wave of digital transformation sweeping every company and every industry,” said Satya Nadella, chief executive officer of Microsoft. “Building their own digital capability is the new currency driving every organization’s resilience and growth. Microsoft is powering this shift with the world’s largest and most comprehensive cloud platform.”
