Minecraft earth is Minecraft’s newest augmented reality title which will be launching in early access in October. Microsoft made the announcement earlier today during the online Minecon 2019 event. They also revealed that the game’s next update will add the Nether update.
Minecraft Earth is currently in a closed beta in a small number of cities such as London, Seattle and Tokyo and the early access will be across more countries when it comes out.
According to Microsoft:
“We will release in a few smaller markets initially,” Microsoft said in a statement, “and once we’re performing well in those markets, add more and more countries every few days/weeks until eventually we’re worldwide by this holiday.”
In Minecraft Earth, players will use their mobile devices to collect building resources from the real world called tappables. The game then tasks you with building your own augmented worlds on build plates which can be earned or purchased.
Other resouces must be earned through adventures where players must solve a puzzle found in play spaces around the world. The early access version of the game will include a minimum feature set for a great player experience along iwth extra elements to be added in the beginning of next year.
