After several teases, rumors and leaks, publisher Warner Bros. Games and developer NetherRealm Studios have officially announced the next installment in the Mortal Kombat series, Mortal Kombat 1. It will launch on September 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Additionally, the game will receive a beta test in August. The game’s Standard Edition will cost $69.99, the Premium Edition will cost $109.99, and a physical only Kollector’s edition will cost $249.99, and will only be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Those who pre-order any version of the game will gain access to the beta, and those who purchase either the Premium or Kollector’s edition will gain early access to the game on September 14. An announcement trailer was also released. Mortal Kombat 1 will introduce “a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe that has been created by the Fire God Liu Kang, featuring reimagined versions of iconic characters as they’ve never been seen before, along with a new fighting system, game modes, bone krushing finishing moves, and more.”
