Mortal Kombat 1 Will Get Crossplay Support in February

Developer NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 will get crossplay support in February 2024. This was confirmed by community manager Tyler Lansdown in a recent “Raising the Dead: The Return of Quan Chi” podcast on the official Mortal Kombat YouTube channel.  Mortal Kombat creator and Nether Realm creative director Ed Boon also recently confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 will get a story DLC similar to the last entry in the series. Mortal Kombat 1 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Mortal Kombat 1 details via the publisher:

It’s In Our Blood!

Discover a reborn Mortal Kombat™ Universe created by the Fire God Liu Kang. Mortal Kombat™ 1 ushers in a new era of the iconic franchise with a new fighting system, game modes, and fatalities!

Omni-Man, also known as Nolan Grayson, hails from the alien world of Viltrum and has long fought to protect his adopted home of Earth as one of the planet’s most powerful champions. He even raised his son, the hero known as Invincible (Mark Grayson), to follow in his footsteps and carry on his legacy. But the Viltrumite warrior’s true mission was never benevolence—it was conquest. And the Viltrum Empire, hungry for expansion, has no intention of stopping at Earthrealm.

New Origins

Reflecting Fire God Liu Kang’s vision of perfection, Mortal Kombat 1’s brand new universe is familiar, yet radically altered.

Invasions

Invasions is a dynamic single player campaign with a variety of distinct challenges. With built in progression and RPG mechanics, mixed with MK1’s incredible fighting action, Invasions provides deep, and engaging challenges, and a ton of rewards along the way.

Kameos

Kameos dramatically enhance every fight, assisting teammates with their own Special Moves, Throws and defensive Breakers.
