Mortal Kombat 11 Features 25 Characters at Launch; Running at 60 FPS on Switch

Mortal Kombat 11 is coming this month in less than three weeks and fighter lovers are hyped enough up until now to buy the game or countdown to it’s release date. The game first announced during The Game Awards 2018, with Ed Boon presenting it on stage by showcasing a breath-taking fight between Scorpion and Raiden, two iconic characters of the long-running series. Recently, creative director of the game took part in an interview with Game Informer to talk about Moral Kombat 11 and provide new details on the game, including number of characters at launch.

According to Boon and based on what leaks suggested, which turned out to be true, Mortal Kombat 11 will feature 25 characters as of release. Until now, Nether Realm has confirmed 23 characters and just 2 fighters remain unknown and will definitely be revealed in following days. Kitana is one of the most wanted characters that fans have asked so many times from the development team to add her to the roster, and now their last hope is to see Kitana within two upcoming announcements. Boon also talked about 10 DLC that will add more characters to the game, including Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung.

In other part of interview, Boon talked about Nintendo Switch version of the game and promised to fans that it will run smoothly at 60 FPS, though the graphics is a bit lower than other platforms. However, it doesn’t mean that the game will lose most of it’s visual features on Switch, as Boon clarified it contains all the same animations and sound. Last time a Mortal Kombat game released on Nintendo’s consoles was back in 2007 that Nether Realm released Ultimate Mortal Kombat for Nintendo DS.

In other news from the fighting franchise, it’s been announced that Mortal Kombat X has sold more than 11 million units so far, and now we should wait and see how much time is needed for Mortal Kombat 11 to reach this milestone in sales.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to be released on May 23rd for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch.

We will update you on Nether Realm’s upcoming fighting game and it’s two new characters, as soon as we get official news. Follow Gaming Instincts on Twitter and Facebook for latest news on gaming industry.
