The latest in the bloody brawler Mortal Kombat series, Mortal Kombat 11, is surprisingly making an appearance on a Nintendo console for the first time since Armageddon released on the Wii all the way back in 2007. Nintendo is ready to greet the returning NetherRealm Studios franchise, but not with out some hefty storage space needed to install the title.
It was revealed through a Twitter post from user NWPlayer123 that the Switch’s physical version of MK11 will initially be around 6.5GB on the cartridge. While this may not seem like much at first, a day one patch will also be required to play the game clocking in at over 15GB. That’s one massive download.
The Switch console comes equipped with around 32GB of system storage, so it’s wise to purchase a nice sizeable SD card for future downloads of this magnitude.
The same user also appears to have leaked what looks like 13 DLC for the upcoming fighter. While all 13 of these pieces of content may not be only new fighters, but we can also expect other fighter variations to go along with some of the changes MK11 is bringing to the series.
Also, NetherRealm Studios also revealed the newest character to hit the roster is the Edenian princess Kitana. There will be 25 playable characters for MK11 at launch, with two DLC characters already confirmed being Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung. It’s also said that the Switch version will indeed run at a solid 60 FPS.
Mortal Kombat 11 is set to release later this month on April 23, 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
