As spotted by a recent ResetEra post, Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios has been hit with significant layoffs. Several former employees took to LinkedIn to state that there were layoffs. These layoffs particularly affected the mobile team. “Good morning internet. Unfortunately, yesterday NetherRealm’s mobile team was shut down. A ton of very talented people were put out of work.” Said Quality Assurance Analyst Tony Lazzara. “It hurts me to announce I’ve been laid off from NetherRealm Studios after about 10 years of working there,” Animator Elizabeth Ramirez said. NetherRealm and Warner bros. Games has yet to comment on the layoffs.
