Naughty Dog to Shut Down Multiplayer Servers
The Last of Us and Uncharted series have some of the more interesting multiplayer for the single-player focused titles, in fact there’s tons of fun jumping around with Uncharted mechanics and shooting others. Well it looks like that the multiplayer for these games will end on September 3, 2019 as Naughty Dog announced that they will be ceasing operations for all of their PS3 era games that includes The Last of Us, Uncharted 2, and Uncharted 3.
Of course in order to make this a proper “send off” the multiplayers will still be on until September 3, so Naughty dog will be making all multiplayer DLC for all three games free to download. This means players can accesss any cosmetic and all maps released so for free.
Naughty Dog believes that this is probably the best way to send-off the PS3’s multiplayer and will pave the way for their future titles.
They state, “It’s bittersweet to say the least. Uncharted and The Last of Us multiplayer on the PS3 are defining entries in Naughty Dog’s history and we’ve been honored to support eh passionate communities that have grown around them for almost a decade. We have so many fond memories from playing alongside you throughout the years.
So this means that if you happen to own Uncharted 2 and 3 along with the Last of Us, you’ll be able to have the most optimal experience with the games’ multiplayer modes using all of the games’ DLC. It’s nice to know that Naughty Dog gave their playerbase a chance to play the old Multiplayer Modes before they officially go offline. So before this all ends, make sure you grab your free DLC and reign supreme in multiplayer.
