Legendary basketball player and soon to be Hall-of-fame Kobe Bryant died today in a tragic helicopter accident. NBA 2K20 has just updated and now features a big homage to the fallen star.
Kobe Bryant was on the cover for NBA 2K10, his image greatly helped to build the franchise. It’s unclear if Visual Concepts and 2K is planning to develop an in-game homage to the legend. But it’s expected and it would be wise, to release the content for free. 2K would receive a huge backlash if they take a wrong approach.
Basketball simulation game NBA 2K20 follows the same formula that previous releases, realistically depicts the NBA with slight improvements at every release. Players can chose between playing with real-life players or customized teams. The games follows closely the rules and objectives of NBA. The game features several game modes and many settings can be customized. Six expansion teams can be created and used in MyLeague and MyGM Mode.
The game also features NBA teams from past eras, such as the 1985–86 Boston Celtics and the 1995–96 Chicago Bulls and the 2015-16 Cleveland Cavaliers. It’s probable that NBA 2k20 adds a special version Kobe Bryant’s 2005-2006 Los Angeles Lakers in their ‘Legendary Teams‘
According to Bleacher Report Kobe Bryant’s 2005-2006 season was statistically his best season, he managed impressive productivity and manage to make history.
“Stats: 35.4 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.5 APG, 45.0% FG.”
Since 1946, only five players have averaged 35 points or more in a season: Wilt Chamberlain (five times), Michael Jordan, Rick Barry, Elgin Baylor and Bryant.
In addition, the NBA had 12 instances in that very same year in which a player scored 50 points or more. Bryant by himself had half of those occurrences and made news that season with an outrageous 81-point performance against the Toronto Raptors.
In scoring the second-highest total in NBA history, Bryant assured that his name will forever be in the record books.”
